Event Recap: An Evening of Design Conversations
Last week, I had the pleasure of co-hosting Design Conversations event, an evening of design, connection and great conversations. It was a special opportunity to share my process, showcase what I have to offer, and engage with a room full of design enthusiasts! The energy in the space was incredible, and it meant so much to have friends, family, and new faces in attendance.
The event was held at Parkroad Custom Furniture here in London, Ontario—a beautiful and ideal setting to talk about interiors and the design process. My co-host, DpDesign Studio, and I were thrilled to welcome everyone into the space. Walking into the space, guests were greeted with carefully curated furniture pieces that set the perfect backdrop for our conversation. The ambiance was warm and inviting, which made it easy for everyone to settle in, enjoy some light refreshments, and prepare for an evening of learning and discussion.
Designing the Dream: Behind the Scenes of the Process
The highlight of the evening was the discussion panel, where I, along with DpDesign Studios, walked guests through the ins and outs of working with a professional designer. We talked about what to expect, the different phases of a project, and how to navigate the journey from concept to completion. There were thoughtful questions from the audience, which made the discussion dynamic and engaging.
We talked about how to start a project, what kind of budget to consider, and how a designer can help bring a vision to life while managing the practical aspects of renovation and new construction! It was refreshing to see so many people eager to learn more about the process and how it could apply to their own homes.
Mingling, Inspiration, and Design Magic
Beyond the discussion, one of the best parts of the event was the opportunity to mingle and chat with guests one-on-one. I had some fantastic conversations with homeowners cothers who were simply passionate about interiors, and a few industry professionals who were interested in collaboration. It’s always inspiring to hear different perspectives and see the enthusiasm people have for design.
I loved meeting so many new people, but it was also special to reconnect with past clients and familiar faces. It reminded me why I love what I do—helping people create spaces that reflect their style and enhance their lives!
